Tintypes

I stopped by this week to visit my friends at Photobooth in San Francisco's Mission district.  Photobooth specializes in a nostalgia for the analog: polaroid & wet plate photo processes.  Michael Shindler has definitely perfected the art of the wet plate.  His tintypes are hauntingly beautiful.  The focus on the eyes reminds me how true the quote: "The Eyes Are The Window of the Soul"  So, I went ahead & let Michael capture a bit of my soul too for a one of a kind photo that digital will never be able to replicate.
